Arcus: perpetuals on stocks, gold and crypto
One self-custodial book that lists tech shares next to Bitcoin and gold, trading long after the stock exchange has closed for the day.
What Arcus actually is
Arcus is a perpetuals exchange on Robinhood Chain. A perpetual is a contract that tracks a price and never expires, so a position can follow Nvidia, Bitcoin or gold without ever holding the underlying asset.
The unusual part is the range on a single venue. Most exchanges make you choose: crypto derivatives in one place, equity exposure somewhere else entirely. Here a tech share, an index, a metal and a major coin sit in the same book, under the same margin.
- Perpetual contracts, no expiry and no rollover to manage.
- US equities, crypto, indices and commodities side by side.
- Self-custodial: the account stays under your own keys.
Why equity perps trade when the stock market is shut
A share stops trading when its exchange closes. A perpetual on that share does not, because it settles against a price feed rather than the exchange itself. That is why the venue keeps a book open through the night and the weekend.
It cuts both ways. Overnight liquidity is thinner than during regular hours, spreads widen, and a headline that lands after the closing bell moves the perpetual immediately while the share itself waits until morning.
- News after the close is priced straight away, not at the next open.
- Thinner overnight books mean wider spreads and more slippage.
- Margin requirements can differ outside regular trading hours.
The three numbers worth reading first
Open interest is money currently sitting in open positions. Volume is how much changed hands. A market with heavy volume but flat open interest is being traded through, not accumulated, and that difference tells you what kind of participant is there.
Funding is a payment exchanged between longs and shorts every hour. When longs crowd in, they pay shorts, and the cost of holding a crowded side compounds quietly over a few days.
- Open interest: how much is still on the table.
- Volume: how much moved through in the last day.
- Funding: what it costs per hour to stay on the crowded side.
Where to see all of it live
The SypherScore Arcus screener puts every listed market on one page with price, 24-hour volume, open interest and funding, plus daily history, the busiest markets and what a trade of a given size actually costs to fill.
It reads the exchange's public API, so nothing is estimated or modelled, and it needs no account, no wallet connection and no registration.
- Every market in one table, updated continuously.
- Daily volume history since the venue launched.
- Free and open, with no login of any kind.
What can you trade on Arcus?
Perpetual contracts on US equities, crypto, indices and commodities. The exact list changes as the venue adds markets, and the screener always shows the current one.
Can you trade stock perps at night or on weekends?
Yes. Perpetuals settle against a price feed rather than the stock exchange, so the book stays open outside regular hours. Liquidity is thinner then, so spreads are usually wider.
How often is funding charged on Arcus?
Every hour. It moves between longs and shorts depending on which side is crowded, which is what keeps a perpetual tied to the price it tracks.
Do you need an account to see Arcus statistics?
Not on our screener. It reads the venue's public data and shows it to anyone, with no login and no wallet connection.
